Ever been in a practice space and notice the band next door is playing the same basic song as you are? Sound that bleeds through walls doesn’t help anybody. We spent a boatload on sound proofing to make sure it doesn’t happen.
It took eighteen wheels worth of flatbed truck to bring in all the drywall, but each of our four rooms are entirely freestanding. No shared walls between rooms, and we didn’t stop there.
Double sheets of drywall are held together by a layer of green glue, known for its sound-deadening qualities. Then we screwed this into metal sound channels which run horizontally along the walls and are attached to rubber cleats, allowing the walls to float and almost totally eliminate vibration. A ton of insulation and, on the other side of the sound channels, another drywall-and-green-glue sandwich finish off the wall.
The result is incredible sound dampening by the drywall sandwiches and insulation, combined with sound distribution and dispersement by the sound channels and cleats. Schedule a rehearsal and see for yourself how what happens in our rooms is literally between you and the walls.
